These Terms of Service govern your use of SillyBudget. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Notice.

1. Who may use SillyBudget

SillyBudget is intended and offered only for adults age 18 or older located in the United States. Access from outside the United States may be blocked. You may not use the service if doing so would violate applicable law.

2. What SillyBudget is

SillyBudget is a manual budgeting and planning tool. It helps you organize information you enter, assign available money to categories, record transactions, reconcile accounts, create targets, review reports, and create a separate forward-looking Forecast. SillyBudget is not a bank, lender, broker, investment adviser, accountant, tax preparer, law firm, or financial adviser.

3. No professional advice

Budgets, forecasts, reports, balances, targets, calculations, projections, and other outputs are informational planning aids only. They are not financial, investment, tax, accounting, or legal advice. You are responsible for checking your information and making your own financial decisions.

4. Your account and security

You are responsible for providing accurate account information, protecting your password, and activity performed through your account. Notify SillyBudget promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

5. Do not enter financial credentials

SillyBudget does not need or request bank passwords, routing numbers, full bank account numbers, full payment-card numbers, brokerage credentials, or similar financial-institution credentials. Do not enter that information into account names, notes, transaction memos, imports, or other fields.

6. Your content and data

You retain ownership of the information you enter. You give SillyBudget only the limited permission needed to host, process, back up, display, and otherwise handle that information to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service. You are responsible for having the right to enter any information you provide.

7. Forecast is separate from your real budget

Forecast is an optional planning feature. Forecast values do not create spendable money and do not alter Money to Spend, category assignments, account balances, or real transactions. Forecast results are estimates and may differ materially from what actually occurs.

8. Acceptable use

You may not attempt to access another person’s budget, bypass access controls, probe or disrupt the service, automate abusive registrations or requests, introduce malicious code, use the service for unlawful activity, or interfere with other users or infrastructure.

9. Early Access and service changes

SillyBudget is offered in Early Access and may change over time. Features may be added, modified, limited, or removed. We may suspend or restrict accounts when reasonably necessary to protect users, comply with law, investigate abuse, maintain the service, or address security risks.

10. Availability, accuracy, and backups

SillyBudget is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, error-free calculations, permanent retention, or that every report, balance, forecast, or other result will always be complete or accurate. Maintain independent copies or exports of information that is important to you.

11. Data export, Clean Slate, and deletion

SillyBudget includes tools for exporting data, resetting a budget with Create a Clean Slate, and permanently deleting an account and budget. Destructive actions are intentionally irreversible once completed. Some infrastructure backups or security records may remain for a limited period as described in the Privacy Notice.

12. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SillyBudget disclaims implied warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and warranties arising from course of dealing or usage. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights that cannot legally be waived.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SillyBudget and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost savings, lost data, business interruption, or decisions made in reliance on the service. To the maximum extent permitted by law, aggregate liability arising from the service will not exceed the greater of $100 or the amount you paid SillyBudget during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

14. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to be responsible for claims, losses, or expenses arising from your unlawful misuse of SillyBudget, your violation of these Terms, or information you submit without the right to do so.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable law requires otherwise. Any dispute not otherwise resolved will be handled in a court of competent jurisdiction in Texas, unless applicable law provides another required forum.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as SillyBudget changes. Material revisions will receive a new version/date, and we may require renewed acceptance when appropriate. Continuing to use the service after an effective update means you accept the revised Terms where permitted by law.
